New Job!

As most of you will be aware I have been retraining this year to become a secondary Maths teacher… Having successfully reached the end of my course I am now about to start my new job!

I will be teaching secondary level Maths and IT at the Warwick School (unsurprisingly in Warwick!) which, for those of you who don’t know the school, means I have sold my soul to private sector. Warwick School is a very academic independent boys school, which will be quite a change for me! This will involve lots of new things for me… I will be teaching some general studies at A-Level, coaching one of the Rugby teams (those of you who know me will know how funny that will be!) and be involved in a number of clubs and activities…

Warwick School

I am really looking forward to the new challenges, especially the opportunity to teach some very able mathematicians!

I’ll let you know how I get on in the new job! There may well be some interesting stories about the Rugby!

As part of our study of Romans we had a study day in which we looked at the final few chapters of Romans…

I prepared the study for the end of Romans 15 [show]

Romans 15

The Example of Christ

15:1 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. 3 For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. 5 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.

Christ the Hope of Jews and Gentiles

8 For I tell you that Christ became a servant to the circumcised to show God's truthfulness, in order to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs, 9 and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. Test Image Post

Now that I have the gallery mostly up and running I am just posting a few test images to see how well I can include images in posts:

In the process of doing this I came across a bug in G2. See Here

PGCE Resources

During our PGCE course many people posted Maths resources that they had produced or otherwise gathered during the course.

Between myself and Domonic we have put them altogether including all the ones from early in the year which are no longer available on FirstClass.

The file itself is pretty huge! just over 50MB so will take approximately:
Broadband (512Kb) – 20mins
Dial-up (56Kb) – 3+ hours

I will keep this resources available for as long as I can, but at least for the next 3-4 weeks…

I have now had to remove this file!

Apologies for the mess the site has been for the last couple of days! My host PlusNet have built a new supposedly safer CGI server to replace the one this website currently resides upon… However having spend about 4 hours trying to recreate this site on the new server I decided to move the domain so that it pointed at the new server… I though all would go swimmingly… But no, apparently they can’t point my domain at the new server but they don’t know why and they’ll look into it…

The result being the for the last couple of days the site hasn’t been at it’s best, if it was there at all!

So some things may not work anymore (gallery for example) but as soon as they fix their problem I’ll move us all over and let you all know!
